Wiki So Far
For our class
Wiki, I have contributed in two different ways. The first page I edited was “Drugs
& Other Substances”. There was a small section on E-Cigarettes and I went
in and updated the information so that there was also current news on the page.
The second paragraph is on the ban of flavored juices and the risk and effects “juuling”
on under-aged smokers. I also mentioned the different types of health risks
that derived from smoking nicotine. I also added that some teens feel peer
pressured to start smoking. A majority of the smokers today didn’t start
smoking until they started “juuling”. The second page that I have edited was “Food,
Beverage & Hospitality Industry”. Within this page, I went through each
section and added photos where there weren’t any. At the same time, I was
editing the photo sizes and the side the photo was on, so it looked consistent
throughout the page. For some sections, I would replace the photo that was more
recent. As I was going through each section, I was also editing the body
paragraphs and ensuring that there were any mistakes. I changed the grammar as I saw fit. I will be continuing to add onto the Class WikiPage. For the next edit, I would like to rearrange a page so it is easier to follow and more appealing to the eye.
I agree that juuling encourages under-age smoking and many teens start because of peer-pressure. This is amazing content.
ReplyDeleteJuuling does pose a risk for many smokers, under-age and of age. I feel that the ban on different types of smoking alternatives could potentially be a gateway into cigarettes however, just to fill the urge of having nicotine. In general, e-cigarettes do solve a long-time problem in the smoking society, but with it not being regulated, it has caused problems for younger adults.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you that the myth of juuling is better than smoking is false. Juuling has many consequences. People just are not aware of this issue. It is unfortunate how many teens just do it to look cool, but does not know they are harming there body.
